Theoretically, devil's claw might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that devil's claw might inhibit CYP3A4, although this has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for lomitapide (Juxtapid): your body clears it using an enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies hint that devil's claw might slow that same enzyme down. If that were to happen, lomitapide could build up in your system and hit harder than intended.

Why does that matter? Lomitapide is already known for stomach and liver issues, so more of it in your blood could mean worse diarrhea, nausea, belly pain, and a higher chance of raising your liver enzymes. The important caveat: this effect has only been seen in a test tube, never confirmed in real people, so it's theoretical right now. Still, lomitapide is a high-stakes drug with strict monitoring, so I'd run any devil's claw plans past your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Lomitapide

What Is Lomitapide Used For?

Brand name: Juxtapid

Juxtapid (lomitapide) is used alongside a low-fat diet and other cholesterol-lowering treatments — including LDL apheresis (a procedure that filters LDL from the blood) where available — to lower LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, and non-HDL cholesterol in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH). HoFH is a rare, inherited condition that causes extremely high LDL cholesterol levels from birth.

Juxtapid is approved for use in adults and in children aged 2 years and older with HoFH. It has not been proven safe or effective for other types of high cholesterol, including the more common heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH). Its effect on heart attacks, strokes, or other cardiovascular events has not been established.
