Hydrocodone Bitartrate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Dhea interacts with.

Theoretically, DHEA might increase the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.

Here's the short version: your body partly clears hydrocodone using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. There is some early lab-based hint that DHEA might slow that enzyme down. If that happened, hydrocodone could hang around a bit longer than usual, which in theory could nudge up its effects, things like extra drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or slower, shallower breathing.

I want to be honest about how shaky this is. The evidence here is anecdotal and mostly theoretical, and we don't really know if it matters in real people. Still, since hydrocodone is a strong opioid where even small changes deserve respect, I wouldn't just guess. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing DHEA with it, and don't change your pain medicine on your own.
