Amphetamine Sulfate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Fever Bark interacts with.

Theoretically, fever bark might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that yohimbine, a constituent of fever bark, inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity. The effects of fever bark itself are unclear.

Here's the basic idea: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to help clear amphetamine. Fever bark contains a yohimbine-like compound that, in lab studies, can block that enzyme. If it slows the breakdown of amphetamine, more of the drug could linger in your system, which may bump up its usual effects, things like a faster or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, and feeling wired or anxious.

I want to be honest about how shaky this is. The evidence comes only from test-tube work, not real people, so we don't truly know how fever bark behaves in the body. Still, since both can raise heart rate and blood pressure, I'd play it safe. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Reserpine, a constituent of fever bark, might increase or decrease effects of sympathomimetics. Also, yohimbine, another constituent of fever bark, has sympathomimetic effects and increases blood pressure in a dose-dependent manner. It is not known if this would occur with fever bark.

Here's the tricky part with combining fever bark and amphetamine sulfate: this herb contains a mix of active alkaloids that can push your body in opposite directions. One compound (yohimbine-like) tends to act as a stimulant itself and can raise blood pressure, while another (reserpine-like) can actually blunt stimulant effects over time. So we honestly can't predict which way it would land.

What does that mean for you? Stacking fever bark on top of amphetamine could amplify the usual stimulant effects like a racing heart, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, and trouble sleeping, or it might work against your medication. To be clear, this is based on weak, theoretical evidence, not solid studies. Still, since both touch heart rate and blood pressure, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

Fever bark is the bark of the Australian tree Alstonia constricta, used in traditional medicine for fever, diarrhea, and infections. There is very little reliable human research to support these uses, and the bark contains potent alkaloids that may cause serious side effects. It is best avoided unless used under direct medical supervision.
