These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Indole-3-carbinol interacts with whole categories of medication. Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Indole-3-carbinol in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone
Aspirin, Caffeine, Hydrocodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Indole-3-carbinol interacts with.
Animal research shows that indole-3-carbinol induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
In this combination product (Damason-P), the part that interacts most with indole-3-carbinol is the caffeine, since caffeine is cleared by the liver enzyme CYP1A2. Indole-3-carbinol may speed up that enzyme, which could lower caffeine levels in your blood. In plain terms, you might notice caffeine wearing off faster or feeling a bit less of its pick-me-up effect. The aspirin and hydrocodone pieces are not really driven by this enzyme, so I wouldn't expect their pain relief to change much.
Honestly, this is a theoretical concern based only on animal and lab studies, not real-world human reports, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, before adding an I3C supplement, run it by your pharmacist or doctor.

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS

In vitro research shows that indole-3-carbinol inhibits platelet aggregation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The combo you're asking about (Damason-P) contains aspirin, which thins the blood a bit by keeping platelets from clumping. Here's the wrinkle: in laboratory studies, indole-3-carbinol seems to slow platelet clumping too. So in theory, pairing an I3C supplement with the aspirin in this product could add up and make bleeding or bruising a little more likely. Think easier bruising, longer bleeding from small cuts, or stomach upset that aspirin can already cause.
I want to be honest though: this is only seen in test-tube research, not proven in real people, so it's a possible concern, not a sure thing. Eating broccoli or cabbage won't matter. If you take a concentrated I3C supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
