Animal research shows that jambolan seed and bark extracts can lower blood glucose levels. Theoretically, jambolan might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs. This might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in some patients. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.

Here's the simple version: Tresiba (insulin degludec) already lowers your blood sugar, and jambolan may nudge it down a little further. Animal studies suggest the seed and bark extracts can lower glucose, so taking a concentrated jambolan supplement alongside your insulin could stack those effects and push your sugar too low.

If that happens, you might notice shakiness, sweating, a fast heartbeat, confusion, or feeling lightheaded, the usual signs of hypoglycemia. Keep in mind this is mostly theoretical and based on lab and animal data, not strong human studies. Eating the fruit as food is unlikely to cause trouble. Before adding a jambolan supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor and watch your blood sugar more closely at first. Don't change your insulin dose on your own.

What Is Insulin Degludec (rDNA Origin) Injection Used For?

Brand name: Tresiba

Insulin degludec (brand name Tresiba) is used to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in adults and children 1 year of age and older who have diabetes mellitus — including both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

It is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous complication of diabetes that requires a different type of treatment). In people with type 1 diabetes, insulin degludec must always be used together with a short-acting insulin.
