Here's the thing to know about pairing masterwort with capmatinib (Tabrecta). This isn't about masterwort changing how your body breaks the drug down or how strong it is. Instead, both can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Capmatinib already carries a known risk of photosensitivity, meaning you can sunburn faster than usual. Masterwort contains furanocoumarins, the same kind of compounds that do this too, so stacking them could add up.

In plain terms, you may burn more easily, with redness or a rash after even short time outdoors. This concern is mostly theoretical, based on how these compounds behave, not hard studies. Still, it's a reasonable reason to be cautious. Please check with your oncologist or pharmacist before using masterwort, and keep using sunscreen and protective clothing.

What Is Capmatinib Used For?

Brand name: Tabrecta

Tabrecta (capmatinib) is used to treat adults with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) — lung cancer that has spread — whose tumors carry a specific genetic change called a MET exon 14 skipping mutation. A patient must test positive for this mutation using an FDA-approved test before starting treatment.

This is a targeted therapy, meaning it works against tumors with this particular genetic driver rather than all lung cancers.
