Flibanserin falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Tianeptine interacts with.

Tianeptine has sedative effects; high doses may have additive effects with other CNS depressants.
Higher doses of tianeptine have opioid like effects and may have additive effects with other sedative drugs. In one case report, a 42-year-old male presented with respiratory depression and aspiration pneumonia due to concomitant use of high-dose tianeptine and alprazolam.

Here's the simple version: both of these can calm down your brain and body. Flibanserin (Addyi) already tends to cause drowsiness, dizziness, low blood pressure, and even fainting, especially if you've had alcohol. Tianeptine, particularly in the higher doses found in those over-the-counter 'gas station' products, can act a lot like an opioid and add to that sedation. Stacking them together could leave you extra sleepy, lightheaded, or at risk of dangerously slow breathing.

This concern is based on how these drugs behave rather than direct studies, but the risk is real, and one case linked high-dose tianeptine plus a sedative to serious breathing trouble. Please don't combine them without first talking to your doctor or pharmacist. Honestly, I'd steer clear of over-the-counter tianeptine altogether.

What Is Flibanserin Used For?

Brand name: Addyi

Addyi is approved to treat acquired, generalized hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) — a condition where low sexual desire causes significant distress or relationship difficulty — in women under 65. "Acquired" means the low desire developed after a period of normal desire; "generalized" means it happens regardless of the situation or partner.

Addyi is not intended for use in men, and it is not a sexual performance enhancer. It is also not meant for HSDD that is caused by a medical condition, a psychiatric condition, relationship problems, or another medication.
