Here's the simple version. Mephenytoin (Mesantoin) is an older seizure medicine that, like many anti-seizure drugs, can occasionally be tough on the liver. Turmeric is usually gentle, but there have been scattered reports that concentrated curcumin supplements (especially the high-dose, 'enhanced absorption' kinds) can irritate the liver in some people. So the worry here is simple addition: two things that can each stress the liver, working at the same time.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical, anecdotal concern, not something proven for this exact combo. The turmeric you sprinkle on food is very unlikely to matter. If you're taking a strong turmeric supplement, just loop in your pharmacist or doctor first, and report any yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, nausea, or belly pain.
