Renflexis (infliximab-abda) works by calming down an overactive immune system. It's used for conditions like Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis, where the goal is to turn down inflammation. Umckaloabo, on the other hand, seems to gently rev up certain immune cells, at least in lab studies. So in theory, the two could be pulling in opposite directions, and the supplement might make your infliximab work a little less well.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes from test-tube research, not real-world patient studies, so we don't know if it actually matters in people. Still, if you're relying on Renflexis to control a flare, it's worth a quick chat with your doctor or pharmacist before adding Umckaloabo. Don't change your infliximab on your own.

Umckaloabo is a root extract from a South African geranium that is most studied for short-term relief of acute bronchitis and other respiratory infections.
