Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the idea behind this one. Teclistamab (Tecvayli) is a powerful immune-based therapy used for multiple myeloma. It works by directing your own T-cells to attack cancer cells, so it's deliberately steering your immune system in a specific way. Umckaloabo, on the other hand, may gently stimulate immune activity. On paper, an immune-stimulating herb could theoretically work against a treatment that's carefully managing your immune response.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is a theoretical concern based on lab studies, not real cases in people taking this exact drug. There's no proof it actually weakens Tecvayli. Still, because this is a serious cancer therapy with close monitoring, please run any herbal product past your oncology team before starting it.
