Treprostinil (Inh) falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Vinpocetine interacts with.

Vinpocetine might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Clinical research shows that vinpocetine decreases red blood cell aggregation, as well as plasma and whole blood viscosity. This effect has been seen with intravenous vinpocetine 1 mg/kg and oral vinpocetine 30 mg daily. Vinpocetine also seems to have antiplatelet effects.

Here's the thing to keep in mind if you're using inhaled treprostinil (Tyvaso) for pulmonary hypertension: this medicine does more than relax blood vessels in your lungs. It also makes your platelets a little less sticky, which is one reason people on it can bruise more easily or bleed a bit longer. Vinpocetine appears to have its own blood-thinning, anti-platelet effect, so stacking the two together could add up and raise your bleeding risk.

Realistically, that might look like easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or a cut that's slow to stop. Treprostinil isn't a prodrug here, so this isn't about one activating the other, it's simply two things nudging you toward more bleeding. The evidence is moderate and only possible, not certain, so don't panic. Just talk with your pharmacist or doctor before adding vinpocetine.

What Is Treprostinil Oral Inhalation Used For?

Brand name: Tyvaso

Treprostinil oral inhalation is used to treat two serious lung conditions that raise pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs. It helps improve how much physical activity you can do.

Tyvaso inhalation solution and Tyvaso DPI are both indicated to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH; WHO Group 1) and pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3). Clinical studies establishing effectiveness in PAH primarily included patients with moderate symptoms (NYHA Class III) whose PAH was idiopathic, heritable, or related to connective tissue disease. Studies in PH-ILD primarily included patients with idiopathic interstitial pneumonia, combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema, or connective tissue disease-related lung disease.
