Provitalize Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Provitalize against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

What’s inside
Partial disclosure
Provitalize contains 8 active ingredients: Bioperine (black pepper extract), a probiotic blend, turmeric root extract, lecithin, moringa, B. breve IDCC-4401, L. gasseri SBT-2005, and curry leaf. The probiotics are living microorganisms intended to support digestive health.
Bioperine is added to enhance absorption of other ingredients. Turmeric and moringa are plant extracts; lecithin is derived from soy or egg.
The product also contains hypromellose as an inactive ingredient (the capsule material).
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for Provitalize's ingredients is mixed. Turmeric root extract is possibly effective for depression, high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), hay fever, and indigestion (dyspepsia).
Lecithin is likely ineffective for Alzheimer's disease but has insufficient evidence for cognitive decline, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. For Bioperine, moringa, and the two probiotics, the evidence we hold shows insufficient reliable evidence for most claimed uses — including hay fever, asthma, athletic performance, headache, depression, and diarrhea.
This means the research either hasn't been done or is too limited to draw firm conclusions, not that these ingredients don't work.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Bioperine (black pepper) is generally well tolerated in food amounts, but concentrated supplements should be used cautiously. The most common side effects are burning aftertaste, indigestion, and reduced taste perception; rarely, allergic reactions can occur.
Turmeric is generally well tolerated as food but may cause constipation, indigestion, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, headache, or vertigo in supplement doses. It has been linked to liver damage in rare cases — at least 70 reports exist of liver injury with supplement use lasting 2 weeks to 14 months, most resolving after stopping.
Lecithin is generally safe and likely safe in pregnancy and lactation; common side effects include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and nausea. Moringa leaf is generally well tolerated, though transient diarrhea can occur (about 25% of trial participants in one study).
Rare cases of allergic reactions and Stevens-Johnson syndrome have been reported. The probiotics B. breve and L. gasseri are generally well tolerated in healthy people but carry a theoretical risk of serious infection in critically ill or immunocompromised patients; rare bacteremia has been documented in neonatal intensive care settings.
Bloating and flatulence can occur with probiotic use. Pregnancy and lactation data are not on file for moringa, the probiotics, or B. breve and L. gasseri specifically.

Provitalize by Better Body Co. Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Provitalize by Better Body Co. contains several ingredients with documented interactions with medications.
The most serious concern involves Bioperine (black pepper extract), which can moderately increase blood levels of propranolol, a beta-blocker used for heart problems and high blood pressure — potentially raising the drug's effects and side effects.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Bioperine also has moderate interactions with several other drug types: nevirapine (an HIV medication), rifampin (a tuberculosis drug), phenytoin (a seizure medication), cyclosporine (an immunosuppressant), pentobarbital (a sedative), atorvastatin (a cholesterol drug), and theophylline (a breathing medication). Each can have its blood levels increased, which may intensify the drug's effects.
Turmeric root extract carries moderate interactions with chemotherapy drugs that work through free-radical generation (topoisomerase I inhibitors and antitumor antibiotics), tacrolimus (an immunosuppressant), tamoxifen (a breast cancer drug), sulfasalazine (an inflammatory bowel disease medication), methotrexate (a immunosuppressant and cancer drug), tramadol (a pain reliever), and certain kidney-transport substrates. Moringa has moderate interactions with CYP3A4 substrates (a large group of medications metabolized by your liver), levothyroxine (thyroid hormone), and P-glycoprotein substrates, plus minor interactions with diabetes medications and other enzyme substrates.
Both B. breve and L. gasseri probiotics can be reduced in effectiveness if taken at the same time as antibiotics.
Lecithin showed no interactions in our data. We could not check curry leaf or B. animalis animalis R101-8.
Altogether, these interactions span 1,296 individual medications. Check your exact medications with the tool on this page before starting.

Probiotic Blend
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
