Why this applies to Tadalafil

Tadalafil falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Moringa interacts with.

Theoretically, moringa might increase or decrease levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
Some in vitro research suggests that moringa inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). However, other in vitro research suggests that moringa extract induces CYP3A4 enzymes. A pharmacokinetic study in patients with HIV shows no change in the pharmacokinetics of nevirapine, which is partially metabolized by CYP3A4, when administered concomitantly with moringa leaf powder 1.85 grams daily for 14 days.

Your body clears tadalafil mostly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, and moringa might nudge that enzyme in either direction. If moringa slows CYP3A4 down, tadalafil could build up a bit, making side effects like headache, flushing, a stuffy nose, back pain, or lightheadedness more likely. If moringa instead speeds the enzyme up, tadalafil might wear off faster and not work as well.

Here's the reassuring part: this concern comes only from lab and test-tube studies, not real patients, and a human study with a similar drug showed no meaningful change. Tadalafil is not a prodrug, so it doesn't flip. Food amounts of moringa are unlikely to matter, but concentrated supplements are worth running past your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Tadalafil

What Is Tadalafil Used For?

Brand names: Cialis, Tadliq

Tadalafil tablets (including Cialis and generic tadalafil) are used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH — an enlarged prostate), or both conditions together. When used with the drug finasteride to start BPH treatment, this combination is recommended for up to 26 weeks.

Adcirca, Alyq (tablets), and Tadliq (oral suspension) are indicated specifically for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH — high blood pressure in the lungs), to improve the ability to exercise.
