Pumpkin seed oil and saw palmetto are generally well tolerated in adults, though side effects can occur. Pumpkin seed oil may cause abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting; rare cases of anaphylaxis have been reported.

Saw palmetto's most common side effects are mild—abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Occasional reports of heart rhythm problems and blood pressure changes exist but are uncommon.

Uva ursi is generally well tolerated at low doses used short-term; however, high doses (20 grams or more of dried herb) can cause serious effects including delirium, convulsions, and shortness of breath, and doses of 30 grams or more may be fatal. For pregnancy and breastfeeding: saw palmetto and uva ursi are rated likely unsafe during pregnancy and should be avoided.
