Fluvastatin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Adrafinil interacts with.

Theoretically, adrafinil might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C9 substrates.
Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil has been shown to reduce CYP2C9 expression in vitro.

Here's the gist for fluvastatin: your liver clears it mainly through an enzyme called CYP2C9. Adrafinil turns into modafinil in your body, and lab studies hint that modafinil may slow down that same enzyme. If that happens, fluvastatin could build up a bit more than usual, which in theory could nudge up the risk of statin side effects like muscle aches, soreness, or weakness, and rarely liver irritation.

I want to be honest, though: this is a theoretical concern based on test-tube data, not real patient reports, so it may not amount to much in practice. Since adrafinil is unregulated and hard on the liver on its own, I'd run this combo past your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.

Adrafinil is a synthetic compound that the body converts into modafinil, a prescription wakefulness-promoting drug. It is sometimes sold as a nootropic supplement, but it is unregulated, carries real risks (especially to the liver), and is banned in some sports and countries. About Fluvastatin

What Is Fluvastatin Used For?

Brand names: Lescol, Lescol XL

Fluvastatin is used along with a healthy diet to lower cholesterol. It is also used in people who already have coronary heart disease.

Uses differ by product. Fluvastatin capsules are approved for primary hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) and mixed dyslipidemia in adults. They are also approved for boys and post-menarchal girls ages 10 to 16 with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (an inherited form of high cholesterol). Fluvastatin extended-release tablets, including Lescol XL, are approved for adults with primary hyperlipidemia. They are also approved for adults and children 10 and older with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia who need an 80 mg daily dose. Both forms are used in adults with coronary heart disease to lower the chance of needing a procedure to restore blood flow to the heart and to slow plaque buildup in the heart arteries.
