Here's the thing about pairing adrafinil with Azstarys (serdexmethylphenidate and dexmethylphenidate). Both are stimulants, so the worry is that their effects could stack on top of each other. Azstarys is already a central nervous system stimulant used for ADHD, and adrafinil converts in your liver into modafinil, which is a wakefulness-promoting stimulant. Put them together and you may notice a bigger push than either alone.

What might that feel like? Think faster heart rate, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, anxiety, or a racing mind. I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how these drugs work, not strong human studies. Still, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining them, especially since adrafinil is unregulated and rough on the liver.

Azstarys (serdexmethylphenidate/dexmethylphenidate) is approved to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in patients 6 years of age and older. It is not recommended for children younger than 6 because they experience higher drug levels in the blood and more side effects at the same doses used in older patients.
