Here's the thinking behind this one. Fluorouracil (often shortened to 5-FU) is a chemotherapy drug given in the vein, and part of how it works is by dampening fast-growing cells, including some immune cells. Lab and animal studies hint that andrographis may do the opposite and gently rev up the immune system. In theory, that push could work against what your chemo is trying to do.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based only on test-tube and animal research, not real-world patient data, so the actual risk is unclear. Still, with a serious treatment like fluorouracil, I wouldn't gamble. Please don't start andrographis without first checking with your oncology team or pharmacist, since they coordinate everything around your chemo schedule.
