Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Amphetamine
Amphetamine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Cajeput Oil interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for amphetamine. Part of how your body clears amphetamine runs through a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. Lab tests suggest cajeput leaf extract can slow that enzyme by about 30 percent. In theory, a slower cleanup means a bit more amphetamine could linger, which might nudge up its usual effects: a faster or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, or reduced appetite.
I want to be honest about the strength here. This is only in vitro (test tube) data, not real people, so the actual risk looks small. Amphetamine is not a prodrug, so the direction is added effect, not less effect. Still, since stimulants stress the heart, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
