Animal studies suggest that cajeput oil might have hypoglycemic effects. Theoretically, taking cajeput oil with antidiabetes drugs could increase the risk for additive hypoglycemia. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, and others.

Here's the simple version: glipizide already lowers your blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. In animal studies, cajeput oil also showed a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect. So in theory, using the two together could push your sugar down a little further than expected, raising the chance of a low blood sugar episode (hypoglycemia). That can feel like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, a fast heartbeat, or sudden hunger.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This is based only on lab and animal data, not real-world human studies, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. If you do use cajeput oil, keep checking your glucose like usual and know your low-sugar warning signs. Before adding it, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor.
