Glucagon falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Cajeput Oil interacts with.

Animal studies suggest that cajeput oil might have hypoglycemic effects. Theoretically, taking cajeput oil with antidiabetes drugs could increase the risk for additive hypoglycemia. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, and others.

Here's a twist worth understanding: glucagon isn't a typical diabetes medicine that lowers blood sugar. It does the opposite. Glucagon is your rescue tool for very low blood sugar, telling your liver to dump stored sugar back into your blood. So the concern listed for diabetes drugs doesn't line up the same way for glucagon.

The interaction on file is based only on animal and lab studies suggesting cajeput oil might nudge blood sugar lower. That evidence is weak and theoretical, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. If anything, a sugar-lowering effect could work against glucagon during an emergency, though that's unproven. Bottom line: keep treating lows as instructed, and run any cajeput oil use past your pharmacist or doctor first.
