Cevimeline falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Cajeput Oil interacts with.

Evidence from in vitro research suggests that cajeput leaf extract can inhibit cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) by approximately 30%. Theoretically, cajeput oil may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6. Some drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 include amitriptyline (Elavil), clozapine (Clozaril), codeine, desipramine (Norpramin), donepezil (Aricept), fentanyl (Duragesic), flecainide (Tambocor), fluoxetine (Prozac), meperidine (Demerol), methadone (Dolophine), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), olanzapine (Zyprexa), ondansetron (Zofran), tramadol (Ultram), trazodone (Desyrel), and others.

Your body relies partly on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to break down cevimeline (Evoxac). Cajeput oil contains compounds that may slow this enzyme down a bit, so in theory cevimeline could clear more slowly and build up a little. Since cevimeline is not a prodrug, more of it hanging around means stronger drug effects. With cevimeline that could show up as extra sweating, watery eyes, a runny nose, stomach upset, or feeling flushed.

Here's the honest part: this concern comes only from lab studies, not real patients, and the enzyme slowdown seen was modest (around 30%). So it's more theoretical than proven. Still, if you'd like to use cajeput oil, it's worth a quick check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
