Here's the thing to keep an eye on with this combo. Your medicine contains chlorthalidone, a water pill (diuretic) that already nudges your body to lose potassium through the urine. Cascara sagrada is a strong stimulant laxative, and with regular use it can flush potassium out through the gut too. Stack those two together and your potassium can drift too low, which we call hypokalemia.

Low potassium can leave you feeling tired, weak, crampy, or give you an irregular heartbeat. To be fair, this concern is mostly theoretical and tied to frequent or long-term laxative use, not an occasional dose. Still, before pairing these, check in with your pharmacist or doctor so they can decide if a quick potassium check makes sense.
