Here's the simple version. Phenobarbital is a barbiturate, a strong sedative that already slows down your brain and nervous system. Corydalis yanhusuo contains plant compounds that, in early animal studies, also seem to have a calming, sleep-promoting effect of their own. Stack two things that both press the brakes on your nervous system, and the slowdown could add up.

What that might look like in real life: feeling extra drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or slower to react, and in a worst case, breathing that's too shallow. I want to be honest with you though, this is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal work, not strong human studies. Still, with a medication this powerful, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them rather than experimenting on your own.
