Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear cariprazine (Vraylar) out of your system. In a test tube, devil's claw seems to slow that enzyme down a bit. If that same effect happened in people, cariprazine could linger a little longer and build up, which might mean stronger side effects like drowsiness, restlessness, dizziness, tremor, or trouble sleeping.

Here's the reassuring part: this is theoretical, based only on lab work, and it has never actually been reported in real patients. So I wouldn't panic. Still, since cariprazine is a long-acting medication that needs steady levels, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding devil's claw, just to be safe.

What Is Cariprazine Used For?

Brand name: Vraylar

Vraylar (cariprazine) is approved to treat schizophrenia in adults and in adolescents aged 13 and older. It is also used for the acute treatment of manic or mixed episodes associated with bipolar I disorder in adults and in children aged 10 and older.

In adults, Vraylar is additionally approved to treat depressive episodes associated with bipolar I disorder (bipolar depression) and as an add-on (adjunctive) therapy alongside antidepressants for major depressive disorder (MDD).
