Dolomite + Doxycycline Hyclate
Doxycycline Hyclate brand names: Acticlate, Acticlate Cap, Lymepak.
Dolomite has a moderate interaction with Doxycycline Hyclate. Theoretically, the calcium and magnesium in dolomite might decrease the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
TETRACYCLINE ANTIBIOTICS
Why this applies to Doxycycline Hyclate
Doxycycline Hyclate falls under TETRACYCLINE ANTIBIOTICS — the group Dolomite interacts with.
Dolomite contains calcium and magnesium, which can bind to tetracyclines in the gut. To avoid this interaction, advise patients to take oral tetracyclines at least 2 hours before or 4-6 hours after dolomite.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the practical concern with taking dolomite alongside your doxycycline. Dolomite is loaded with calcium and magnesium, and these minerals love to grab onto doxycycline right there in your stomach and gut. When that happens, the two clump together and your body simply can't absorb as much of the antibiotic. The result isn't more side effects, it's the opposite problem: less doxycycline gets into your bloodstream, so it may not knock out your infection the way it should.
This is based on well-understood pharmacology rather than a long list of human studies, but the fix is easy and worth doing. Try to take your doxycycline at least 2 hours before, or 4 to 6 hours after, your dolomite. That gap usually keeps them from interfering. If you're treating something serious, please run your timing plan by your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Dolomite
What is Dolomite?
- Source of calcium
- Source of magnesium
- Bone health support
- Antacid for heartburn
- Mineral supplementation
Dolomite is a natural mineral that provides both calcium and magnesium. However, many health authorities advise against using it because dolomite products have been found to contain heavy metals like lead, arsenic, and mercury, and safer, better-tested calcium and magnesium supplements are widely available.
About Doxycycline
What Is Doxycycline Used For?
Brand names: Acticlate, Acticlate Cap, Lymepak
Doxycycline is an antibiotic. It treats infections caused by bacteria, and it does not work on viruses.
Several products carry a broad list of uses, including rickettsial infections, sexually transmitted infections, respiratory tract infections, eye infections, and anthrax after exposure. Some product labels also list malaria prevention, and use as an add-on treatment for acute intestinal amebiasis and severe acne. Doxycycline for Injection (Doxy 100, intravenous) is approved for infections caused by a listed set of microorganisms. Doxycycline capsules in the Oracea-type low-dose form are described in the evidence for inflammatory lesions of rosacea.
