The medication you're asking about contains phenobarbital, which is a barbiturate. Barbiturates are strong central nervous system depressants, meaning they slow down the brain to calm nerves and cause drowsiness. The belladonna part is added to ease stomach cramping, but the phenobarbital is the piece that matters here.

GHB is also a powerful CNS depressant. When you stack two sedating drugs together, their slowing effects can pile up. That can lead to heavy sleepiness, confusion, very slow or shallow breathing, and in serious cases, coma. This warning is based on real-world reports rather than formal studies, but the risk is taken seriously because both drugs hit the same brakes in the brain. Please don't combine them, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist first.

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.
