Here's the gist for Eryzole (which combines erythromycin and sulfisoxazole): both of these antibiotics are known to occasionally stress the liver on their own. The concern on file is that concentrated green tea extract supplements have also been tied to rare cases of liver injury. Stacking two things that can each bother the liver might, in theory, add up.
I want to be honest about how shaky this evidence is. It's anecdotal and considered unlikely, not something most people will ever run into. Drinking green tea as a normal beverage is very unlikely to be a problem here. The caution really applies to high-dose green tea extract capsules. Watch for signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.

Green tea contains caffeine. Caffeine is metabolized by cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2),. Theoretically, drugs that inhibit CYP1A2 may decrease the clearance rate of caffeine from green tea and increase caffeine levels.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's a friendly heads-up about this combo. The active ingredient in Eryzole that matters here is erythromycin, which can gently slow down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. That same enzyme is what your body uses to break down the caffeine in green tea. So the concern isn't really that green tea changes how your antibiotic works. It's the other way around: while you're on erythromycin, caffeine from green tea may hang around longer than usual.
In plain terms, you might feel more of the usual caffeine effects, like jitteriness, a racing heart, trouble sleeping, or an upset stomach. This is mostly theoretical and based on how the drugs behave, not strong studies. Regular tea cups are unlikely to be a big deal, but concentrated extracts are stronger. If you notice these effects, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES

In vitro research and case reports suggest that green tea inhibits drug efflux by P-gp, potentially increasing serum levels of P-gp substrates. Case reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) adverse drug reaction database describe increased toxicity in patients taking green tea and certain P-gp substrates.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with this combo. Your medicine pairs erythromycin with sulfisoxazole, and the erythromycin part is moved around your body by a transporter called P-glycoprotein, often shortened to P-gp. The idea on file is that green tea may slow that transporter down a bit, which could let a little more erythromycin linger in your system than usual.
If that happens, you might notice more of erythromycin's typical side effects, mostly stomach related, like nausea, cramping, or diarrhea. Honestly though, this is based on weak, anecdotal reports, not strong studies, so it's a low-level concern. A normal cup or two of green tea is unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated green tea extract pills are where I'd be more cautious. When in doubt, run it by your pharmacist.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES

In vitro and in vivo research suggests that green tea can inhibit intestinal CYP3A and induce hepatic CYP3A4 enzymes. However, this effect is unlikely to be clinically significant, as green tea does not appear to affect CYP3A4 activity in humans.

Here's the short version on combining green tea with Eryzole (the erythromycin and sulfisoxazole combo): you really don't have much to worry about. The erythromycin part is handled by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, and lab studies hint that green tea can tug on that enzyme a little, both blocking it in the gut and speeding it up in the liver. But those tugs seem to cancel out, and in actual people green tea doesn't meaningfully change how this enzyme works.
So your everyday cup of green tea is very unlikely to make erythromycin build up (which could mean more nausea, cramping, or diarrhea) or wear off too soon. This is based on test-tube and animal data, not strong human evidence. If you're using concentrated green tea extract pills, just mention it to your pharmacist to be safe.
