Theoretically, green tea might reduce the effects of phenobarbital and increase the risk for convulsions.
Green tea contains caffeine. Animal research suggests that caffeine can decrease the anticonvulsant activity of phenobarbital. The exact mechanism of this interaction is unclear.

Here's the gist for your phenobarbital: green tea naturally contains caffeine, and the concern is that caffeine may work against phenobarbital's calming, seizure-controlling action. In theory, this could make the medicine a little less effective, which for someone using it to prevent seizures means a possible bump in convulsion risk. Phenobarbital is a barbiturate that works directly (it's not a prodrug that needs activating), so this is about caffeine partly fighting its effect, not about it building up.

Now, the honest part: this comes only from animal lab research, and the exact mechanism isn't even clear. A cup or two of green tea is unlikely to be a big deal, but concentrated extracts pack more caffeine. Before changing anything, just check with your pharmacist or doctor.
