Mephenytoin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Jambolan interacts with.

There is some in vitro evidence that jambolan can inhibit CYP2C9. Theoretically, concomitant use of jambolan with CYP2C9 substrates may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.

Here's the gist of it. Mephenytoin is an older seizure medicine, and your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2C9 to break it down and clear it out. Jambolan, in lab studies only, appears to slow that same enzyme down. If that effect held true in people, the medicine could clear out a little slower and build up, which might mean more of its typical side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, unsteadiness, or confusion.

I want to be straight with you though: this concern comes only from test-tube research, not from real patients, so it's theoretical. Eating the fruit as food is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated jambolan supplements are the bigger question mark. Before adding one, please check in with your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on you.
