Benactyzine, Meprobamate falls under GLUCURONIDATED DRUGS — the group Milk Thistle interacts with.

Theoretically, milk thistle might affect the clearance of drugs that undergo glucuronidation.
Laboratory research shows that milk thistle constituents inhibit uridine diphosphoglucuronosyl transferase (UGT), the major phase 2 enzyme that is responsible for glucuronidation. Theoretically, this could decrease the clearance and increase levels of glucuronidated drugs. Other laboratory research suggests that a milk thistle extract of silymarin might inhibit beta-glucuronidase, although the significance of this effect is unclear.

Here's the gist for Deprol (a combo of meprobamate and benactyzine, an older anxiety and depression medicine). One way your body packages up and clears certain drugs is through a process called glucuronidation. In test-tube studies, milk thistle's silymarin compounds seem to slow down the enzyme (UGT) that handles that step. In theory, if that clearance slows, levels of an affected drug could creep up a bit.

If that happened with meprobamate, you might feel more of its calming effects, things like extra drowsiness, dizziness, grogginess, or unsteadiness. But I want to be honest: this is only based on lab research, not real people, so it's quite uncertain. Still, since meprobamate is sedating, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
