Tianeptine and Aspirin, Meprobamate

Chronic use of aspirin might increase the levels and clinical effects of tianeptine.
Aspirin is converted to salicylic acid in the body. In vitro research shows that salicylic acid binds to the same protein sites as tianeptine, displacing protein-bound tianeptine and leading to higher levels of tianeptine in the blood.

Here's what's going on with Micrainin, which is a combo of aspirin plus meprobamate (a sedative). The aspirin part turns into salicylic acid in your body. In lab studies, that salicylic acid can crowd tianeptine off the proteins it normally rides on in your blood, which can leave more free, active tianeptine floating around. That could make tianeptine's effects stronger than expected.

I want to be honest with you: this is only based on test-tube research, so we don't know how much it matters in real life. The bigger worry is that tianeptine itself can act like an opioid at high doses, and meprobamate is also sedating, so combining sedatives is genuinely risky. Please don't use over-the-counter tianeptine, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing these.
