Theoretically, adrafinil might reduce the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil has been shown to weakly induce CYP1A2 activity in vitro.

This combination product contains theophylline, and that's the piece I want to focus on. Theophylline is mostly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Adrafinil turns into modafinil in your body, and modafinil may speed up that enzyme a little. In theory, that could push your theophylline level down, which might make it work less well for breathing problems like asthma or COPD.

I want to be honest: this is a theoretical concern based only on lab data, not strong human studies, so it may not amount to much in real life. Still, theophylline has a narrow safe range, so even small shifts matter. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing these, rather than changing anything yourself.

This combo product packs an extra punch worth thinking about. Two of its ingredients, ephedrine and theophylline, are stimulants in their own right. Adrafinil turns into modafinil in your body, which also revs you up. Stacking these together could mean the stimulant effects pile on top of each other.

In real life, that might look like a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, or feeling anxious and shaky. Theophylline in particular has a narrow safety window, so extra stimulation is something to take seriously. To be fair, this concern is theoretical, based on how these drugs work rather than firm studies. Still, please check with your doctor or pharmacist before pairing them.
