Moclobemide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) SUBSTRATES — the group Adrafinil interacts with.

Theoretically, adrafinil might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C19 substrates.
Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil has been shown to inhibit CYP2C19 activity in vitro.

Here's the gist for moclobemide: your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2C19 to help clear it. Adrafinil turns into modafinil in your body, and modafinil can slow down that same enzyme. So in theory, moclobemide could build up more than expected and hit harder than it should.

If that happens, you might notice more of moclobemide's usual effects, things like trouble sleeping, restlessness, dizziness, or headache. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on lab studies, not real-world reports, so it may not amount to much in practice. Still, since moclobemide is a mood medication, please check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining the two.

Theoretically, concomitant use might increase the risk for serious adverse effects.
Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil, and a related drug, armodafinil, have been associated with reports of serious adverse effects, such as hypertensive crisis and hyperthermia, when used in combination with MAOIs.

Here's the concern with pairing these two. Moclobemide is a reversible MAO inhibitor, an antidepressant that slows the breakdown of brain chemicals like norepinephrine, dopamine, and serotonin. Adrafinil, on the other hand, is a prodrug your liver turns into modafinil, a wakefulness agent that nudges those same chemical systems upward. So you have one drug raising these signals and another keeping them from being cleared out.

On paper, stacking those effects could push blood pressure too high or trigger overstimulation, things like racing heart, agitation, headache, or feeling overheated. To be fair, this caution is theoretical, based on how the drugs work rather than confirmed case reports, so I don't want to alarm you. Still, since MAOIs are a sensitive class, please run this by your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.
