ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Indapamide
Indapamide falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Andrographis interacts with.
Animal research suggests that andrographis has hypotensive effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: indapamide is a water pill that lowers blood pressure by helping your body shed extra salt and water. Some animal studies hint that andrographis may lower blood pressure on its own. So if you take both, the worry is that their effects could stack up and drop your blood pressure a little too much.
If that happened, you might notice dizziness, lightheadedness (especially when standing up quickly), tiredness, or feeling faint. I want to be honest, though: this concern comes only from lab and animal research, not from people, so it's more theoretical than proven. Still, it's smart to check in with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and let them know if you feel unusually dizzy.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Indapamide page
“A water pill like indapamide (Lozol) lowers blood pressure and pulls potassium down, and most of the 215 supplements and herbs on file press on those same levers. Thirteen entries rate major, so this is a list to read with real care rather than skim.”

About Andrographis
What is Andrographis?
- Common cold and flu symptoms
- Upper respiratory infections
- Sore throat
- Fever
- Immune support
- Digestive complaints
Andrographis is a bitter Asian herb traditionally used for colds, flu, and infections, and some studies suggest it may ease cold symptoms and shorten how long they last. The evidence is limited and the quality of studies varies, so it should not replace standard care. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy.
About Indapamide
What Is Indapamide Used For?
Brand names: Lozol, Lozide
Indapamide tablets treat high blood pressure (hypertension). They can be used alone or with other blood pressure medicines.
They also treat salt and fluid retention (edema) linked to congestive heart failure. In pregnancy, indapamide is meant for swelling caused by a medical condition, not for the normal swelling many pregnant women have.
