Doxylamine Succinate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Bacopa interacts with.

Theoretically, concurrent use might decrease the effectiveness of both agents.
Bacopa seems to inhibit acetylcholinesterase and might increase acetylcholine levels, which could counteract the effects of anticholinergic drugs. Similarly, anticholinergic drugs might counteract the cholinergic effects of bacopa.

Here's the gist of it. The doxylamine in Diclegis is an antihistamine that works partly by blocking acetylcholine, one of your body's nerve signaling chemicals. Bacopa seems to do the opposite, nudging acetylcholine levels up. So on paper, the two could work against each other, and you might notice your nausea and vomiting medicine doesn't calm your stomach quite as well.

I'll be honest though, this is a theoretical concern based on how each works in the lab, not something proven in real patients. Still, since you'd be taking this during pregnancy, where safety data on bacopa is lacking, I'd skip the bacopa for now and check with your OB or pharmacist before combining them. Don't change your Diclegis on your own.

Bacopa is an Ayurvedic herb most often used for memory and thinking. Some small studies suggest it may modestly help memory when taken regularly for several weeks, but the evidence is limited and quality varies. What Is Doxylamine and Pyridoxine Used For?

Brand names: Diclegis, Bonjesta

Doxylamine and pyridoxine is indicated for the treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy in women who do not respond to conservative management. This applies to the delayed-release tablets (including Diclegis and the generic doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride delayed-release tablets) as well as to Bonjesta, the extended-release tablet formulation.

None of these products have been studied in women with hyperemesis gravidarum (severe, persistent vomiting in pregnancy), so their use in that setting is not established.
