Cinoxacin brand name: Cinobac.
Caffeine has a moderate interaction with Cinoxacin. Theoretically, quinolone antibiotics might increase the levels and adverse effects of caffeine.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
QUINOLONE ANTIBIOTICS
Why this applies to Cinoxacin
Cinoxacin falls under QUINOLONE ANTIBIOTICS — the group Caffeine interacts with.
Quinolones (also called fluoroquinolones) can decrease caffeine clearance by inhibiting cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) enzyme.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the gist: Cinoxacin belongs to the quinolone family of antibiotics, and quinolones can slow down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. That enzyme is exactly what your body uses to clear caffeine. So while you're taking Cinoxacin, the caffeine from your coffee, tea, or energy drinks may hang around longer and pile up more than usual.
What that feels like is more caffeine, not more antibiotic. You might notice jitteriness, a racing or pounding heart, trouble sleeping, or feeling wound up, even from your normal amount. The good news is this is considered a moderate, partly theoretical interaction, and it doesn't make the antibiotic less effective. If you're sensitive to caffeine, trimming back a bit while on Cinoxacin is reasonable. Check with your pharmacist if you're unsure.

About Caffeine
What is Caffeine?
- Mental alertness and reducing fatigue
- Improving athletic performance
- Headache and migraine relief
- Boosting focus and concentration
- Weight loss aid
Caffeine is a natural stimulant found in coffee, tea, and many other plants and products. In moderate amounts it can boost alertness and reduce tiredness for most healthy adults, but too much can cause jitteriness, a racing heart, and sleep problems. Pregnant women and people with heart conditions or anxiety should be especially careful and check with a doctor or pharmacist.
