Dextroamphetamine (patch) falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Cajeput Oil interacts with.

Evidence from in vitro research suggests that cajeput leaf extract can inhibit cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) by approximately 30%. Theoretically, cajeput oil may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6. Some drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 include amitriptyline (Elavil), clozapine (Clozaril), codeine, desipramine (Norpramin), donepezil (Aricept), fentanyl (Duragesic), flecainide (Tambocor), fluoxetine (Prozac), meperidine (Demerol), methadone (Dolophine), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), olanzapine (Zyprexa), ondansetron (Zofran), tramadol (Ultram), trazodone (Desyrel), and others.

Here's the gist for your Xelstrym patch. Cajeput oil showed in a lab dish that it might block an enzyme called CYP2D6 by roughly 30 percent. Since dextroamphetamine is partly cleared through that same pathway, the theory is that cajeput could let a bit more of the drug hang around. If that happened, you might notice stronger stimulant effects like a faster heartbeat, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, less appetite, or feeling wired.

The important part: this is test-tube only evidence, not something proven in people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, applying an essential oil to your skin is a lot gentler than swallowing it. If you plan to use cajeput regularly, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first so someone knows your full picture.
