Animal studies suggest that cajeput oil might have hypoglycemic effects. Theoretically, taking cajeput oil with antidiabetes drugs could increase the risk for additive hypoglycemia. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, and others.

Here's the gist: Levemir (insulin detemir) is a long-acting insulin that lowers your blood sugar throughout the day. In animal studies, cajeput oil has shown a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. So in theory, pairing the two could push your glucose lower than expected, raising the chance of a hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) episode, things like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or confusion.

I want to be honest that this is theoretical, based only on lab and animal data, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you do try cajeput oil, check your blood sugar a bit more closely at first and watch for lows. Don't change your insulin dose on your own. Loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.
