Linagliptin, Metformin Hydrochloride falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Devil's Claw interacts with.

Theoretically, devil's claw might increase levels of P-glycoprotein substrates.
In vitro research shows that devil's claw inhibits P-glycoprotein, which transports many drugs out of cells. This might increase intracellular levels of P-glycoprotein substrates, although it is unclear if this effect would be clinically important.

Here's the gist with your Jentadueto XR (linagliptin plus metformin) and devil's claw. In lab studies, devil's claw seems to block a cellular pump called P-glycoprotein, which helps move certain drugs out of your cells. Linagliptin partly relies on this pump, so in theory blocking it could let a little more linagliptin stick around in the body. Neither linagliptin nor metformin is a prodrug, so this wouldn't make them work backward, it would just nudge levels slightly upward.

The important part: this is only test-tube evidence, the rating is minor, and it's unclear if it matters in real people. If anything, watch for low blood sugar signs (shakiness, sweating, dizziness). Still, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before adding devil's claw.
