This combination pill carries two big nervous system depressants: codeine (an opioid) and phenobarbital (a barbiturate sedative). Both already slow your breathing and brain activity on their own. GHB is also a heavy central nervous system depressant, so stacking it on top can pile the effects together in a dangerous way.

When these are combined, the real worry is too much sedation and slowed breathing. Think extreme drowsiness, confusion, very shallow breaths, deep sleep you can't easily be woken from, and in the worst cases breathing that stops. The evidence here is mainly anecdotal, but the danger is serious and believable given how all three work. Please do not mix these. If GHB has been used, talk to a doctor or pharmacist right away.

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.
