PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS
Why this applies to Sulfadiazine
Sulfadiazine falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Masterwort interacts with.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the thing to know about pairing masterwort with sulfadiazine. This isn't about masterwort changing how your body breaks down the antibiotic. Instead, both can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Sulfadiazine, like many sulfa drugs, already carries a known risk of photosensitivity, meaning you can sunburn faster or break out in a rash with sun exposure. Masterwort contains furanocoumarins, the same compounds in grapefruit and other carrot-family plants, which can add to that effect.
So putting them together could mean an easier, worse sunburn or skin reaction. This is a reasonable concern based on how both work, though it's more theory than proven cases. Stay covered up and use sunscreen, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Sulfadiazine page
“Sulfadiazine treats serious infections like toxoplasmosis, often over long courses, and its list of 107 interacting supplements calls for real care. The most direct problem is PABA, sold as a B-vitamin relative, because it can blunt sulfadiazine's antibacterial effect outright.”

Masterwort (Heracleum sphondylium), a plant in the carrot family, has a long folk-medicine history for digestion, nerves, and skin.
