Moringa + Linagliptin
Linagliptin brand name: Tradjenta.
Linagliptin falls into 2 drug categories that Moringa can interact with; the most serious is rated moderate. Theoretically, moringa leaf extract might increase the levels and clinical effects of P-glycoprotein substrates.

These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Moringa interacts with whole categories of medication. Linagliptin falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Moringa in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Linagliptin
Linagliptin falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Moringa interacts with.
In vitro research shows that moringa leaf extract inhibits renal P-glycoprotein transport activity. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for your diabetes pill linagliptin (Tradjenta). Your body moves some of this drug around using a transporter called P-glycoprotein. In a lab dish, moringa leaf extract seemed to slow that transporter down. If the same thing happened in people, a bit more linagliptin could linger in the body, which in theory might nudge its blood-sugar-lowering effect up slightly.
I want to be honest with you, though: this is only test-tube research, and it has never been seen in real people. Linagliptin on its own rarely causes low blood sugar, so I wouldn't lose sleep over this. Food amounts of moringa are very unlikely to matter; concentrated capsules are a bigger unknown. Before adding a moringa supplement, just give your pharmacist or doctor a quick heads-up.

ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
2 of 2Linagliptin also falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS.
Animal research shows that moringa can lower blood glucose levels. However, research in humans has not shown consistent blood glucose lowering effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: moringa may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. If you take it alongside Linagliptin (Tradjenta), the two could in theory add up and push your numbers a little lower than expected. This isn't a problem with how your body breaks down Linagliptin, it's just two things nudging blood sugar in the same direction.
The honest truth? The human evidence here is weak and mixed. Animal studies show an effect, but studies in people haven't reliably backed it up, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you start a concentrated moringa supplement (not just a sprinkle in food), keep an eye out for low blood sugar signs like shakiness, sweating, or dizziness, and let your pharmacist or doctor know before you combine them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Linagliptin page
“Linagliptin (Tradjenta) helps people with type 2 diabetes bring blood sugar down, so most of the 284 supplements and herbs on this page interact for one basic reason: they lower glucose too, and stacking them can drop you into hypoglycemia. I'd read this list with genuine care rather than a shrug.”

About Moringa
What is Moringa?
- Nutritional supplement
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol support
- Inflammation
- Skin conditions
Moringa is a nutrient-rich plant whose leaves are widely used as a food and supplement, especially in parts of the world where malnutrition is common. Early research hints at possible benefits for blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation, but the human evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using moringa, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications.

Linagliptin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Linagliptin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Moringa — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
