Moringa + Futibatinib
Futibatinib brand name: Lytgobi.
Futibatinib falls into 2 drug categories that Moringa can interact with; the most serious is rated moderate. Theoretically, moringa might increase or decrease levels of CYP3A4 substrates.

These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Moringa interacts with whole categories of medication. Futibatinib falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Moringa in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Futibatinib
Futibatinib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Moringa interacts with.
Some in vitro research suggests that moringa inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). However, other in vitro research suggests that moringa extract induces CYP3A4 enzymes. A pharmacokinetic study in patients with HIV shows no change in the pharmacokinetics of nevirapine, which is partially metabolized by CYP3A4, when administered concomitantly with moringa leaf powder 1.85 grams daily for 14 days.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with Lytgobi (futibatinib). This is a targeted cancer medicine for certain bile duct cancers, and your liver clears it using an enzyme called CYP3A4. Moringa might nudge that enzyme, but the research is genuinely mixed. Some lab studies suggest it slows the enzyme (which could let futibatinib build up, raising the risk of side effects like diarrhea, dry mouth, fatigue, or changes in your phosphate levels), while other lab work suggests it speeds the enzyme up (which could make the drug less effective).
Honestly, this is only test-tube and theoretical data, and one human study showed no real effect. Still, because futibatinib is a serious cancer drug, please run any moringa supplement past your oncology pharmacist or doctor first. Food amounts in cooking are far less of a concern than concentrated capsules.

P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Futibatinib also falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES.
In vitro research shows that moringa leaf extract inhibits renal P-glycoprotein transport activity. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Futibatinib (Lytgobi) is a targeted cancer pill that your body partly moves around using a transporter called P-glycoprotein, almost like a little pump that helps push the drug back out. Lab studies suggest moringa leaf extract may slow that pump down. If that happened in people, more futibatinib could build up in your system, which might mean stronger effects and a higher chance of side effects like diarrhea, dry mouth or eyes, sore mouth, fatigue, or changes in your phosphate levels.
Here is the reassuring part: this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube work, and it has not actually been reported in humans. Still, with a serious cancer medicine like this, it is worth a quick chat with your oncology team or pharmacist before adding moringa supplements.

What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.
- AHigh-quality meta-analysis (quantitative systematic review).
- BCase-control study.
- CConsensus.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Futibatinib page
“Futibatinib (Lytgobi) is a targeted therapy for bile duct cancer, and people in the middle of cancer treatment often reach for supplements to feel better. With this drug, the safest habit is to check every one before it goes in the cart.”

About Moringa
What is Moringa?
- Nutritional supplement
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol support
- Inflammation
- Skin conditions
Moringa is a nutrient-rich plant whose leaves are widely used as a food and supplement, especially in parts of the world where malnutrition is common. Early research hints at possible benefits for blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation, but the human evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using moringa, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications.
About Futibatinib
What Is Futibatinib Used For?
Brand name: Lytgobi
Lytgobi (futibatinib) is used to treat adults with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma — a cancer that starts inside the bile ducts within the liver — that cannot be surgically removed and has spread locally or to other parts of the body. It is specifically for patients whose cancer has a gene change called an FGFR2 fusion or rearrangement, confirmed by testing, and who have already received prior treatment.
This approval is based on how many patients' tumors responded to Lytgobi and how long those responses lasted. Final confirmation of long-term benefit is still being studied in follow-up clinical trials.
