These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Puravive interacts with whole categories of medication. Loratadine, Pseudoephedrine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Puravive in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Minor).
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
1 of 2Why this applies to Loratadine, Pseudoephedrine
Loratadine, Pseudoephedrine falls under Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates — the group Puravive interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the deal with Claritin D and Puravive. Puravive contains Panax ginseng, which can nudge a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 in either direction. The loratadine half of your Claritin D is partly handled by CYP3A4, so in theory ginseng could slightly change how much loratadine sits in your system. If levels crept up, you might notice a bit more drowsiness or dry mouth, though loratadine is usually pretty gentle on that front.
Honestly, this is a minor, loosely supported concern, and the research on ginseng even points both ways. The pseudoephedrine part isn't really affected here. Still, since Puravive isn't well studied as a finished product, I'd run it past your pharmacist or doctor first, especially if you have heart issues or high blood pressure.
Stimulant Drugs
2 of 2Loratadine, Pseudoephedrine also falls under Stimulant Drugs.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the deal with Claritin D and Puravive. Your Claritin D combines loratadine (a non-drowsy antihistamine) with pseudoephedrine, which is a decongestant that acts like a mild stimulant. Puravive contains Panax ginseng, and ginseng itself can have a slight stimulant-like effect. Stacking the two could, in theory, add to that stimulation, meaning you might feel a bit more jittery, notice your heart racing a little, or have trouble settling down to sleep.
That said, the evidence here is weak and this combo is unlikely to cause real trouble for most people. Still, if you have high blood pressure, heart issues, or notice you feel wired, check in with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.
What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Loratadine, Pseudoephedrine page
“Claritin D pairs an antihistamine with pseudoephedrine, a decongestant that raises heart rate and blood pressure, and that stimulant half is why I would want anyone taking it to read this page carefully before adding a supplement. The largest cluster of interactions changes how the body clears the medication: grapefruit slows the break…”

About Puravive
What is Puravive?
- Weight management
- Metabolism support
- Energy levels
- General wellness
- Stress and brain health
Puravive is a branded, multi-ingredient capsule marketed mainly for weight loss by claiming to boost brown fat activity, but there is no published, independent clinical research showing the product itself works for this purpose. Some individual ingredients have been studied in laboratory or small human studies, but those results do not prove the finished blend is safe or effective. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before trying it, especially if you have health conditions or take medications.
