Alcohol increases the clearance and might reduce the levels and clinical effects of tianeptine.
Clinical research shows that alcohol decreases tianeptine absorption rate and lowers tianeptine plasma levels by about 30%. Furthermore, an analysis of alcohol blood levels in 112 patients suggests that alcohol use disorder is associated with a 124% increase in clearance of tianeptine.

Let me be upfront: tianeptine isn't FDA-approved here and shows up in unregulated 'gas station' products that I really can't recommend. But here's what the research on mixing it with alcohol actually shows. Drinking appears to make your body clear tianeptine faster and absorb less of it. In studies, alcohol lowered tianeptine blood levels by roughly 30%, and people with heavy alcohol use cleared it more than twice as fast.

So in plain terms, alcohol can blunt how much tianeptine reaches your system. That sounds harmless, but it isn't. Drinking on top of tianeptine combines two substances that slow breathing and dull alertness, and tianeptine acts opioid-like at higher doses. Please talk with a doctor or pharmacist before going anywhere near this combination.
