Ticagrelor falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Umckaloabo interacts with.

Theoretically, Pelargonium sidoides might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs.
Pelargonium sidoides contains coumarin, which may reduce platelet aggregation. However, in animal models, Pelargonium sidoides extract does not appear to inhibit coagulation or interact with warfarin. This interaction has not been documented in humans.

Here's the short version: Brilinta (ticagrelor) already works to keep your platelets from clumping, which is how it protects you from clots after a heart attack, stent, or stroke. Umckaloabo contains coumarin-type plant compounds that, in theory, might also nudge platelets in that same direction. Stack the two and you could, on paper, see a little more bleeding tendency, things like easier bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums.

That said, this is a theoretical concern only. It comes from the plant's chemistry and lab thinking, not from cases in real people, and animal studies didn't show meaningful blood-thinning effects. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since you're on a serious antiplatelet drug, give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before adding this supplement so they can keep an eye on you.

About Ticagrelor

What Is Ticagrelor Used For?

Brand name: Brilinta

Ticagrelor tablets are used to lower the risk of cardiovascular death, heart attack (myocardial infarction), and stroke in adults who have had acute coronary syndrome (ACS) — a group of conditions including unstable angina and heart attack — or who have a history of heart attack. It also reduces the risk of stent thrombosis (a blood clot forming in a coronary stent) in people who have been stented for ACS treatment.

Ticagrelor tablets are also used in people with coronary artery disease (CAD) who are at high risk for a first heart attack or stroke, particularly those with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, Brilinta is approved to reduce the risk of stroke in adults with a mild acute ischemic stroke or a high-risk transient ischemic attack (TIA, or "mini-stroke").
