Vecuronium falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Uva Ursi interacts with.

Theoretically, uva ursi may alter the levels of drugs transported by P-glycoprotein.
In vitro, uva ursi appears to inhibit the multi-drug transporter protein, P-glycoprotein. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the honest truth on this pairing. Vecuronium (Norcuron) is a muscle relaxant given through an IV during surgery to keep you completely still and to help with breathing on a ventilator. It's not something you'd ever take on your own at home alongside an herb, so this isn't a combination you'll run into in everyday life.

The concern on file is purely theoretical. In lab dish studies, uva ursi blocked a transporter protein called P-glycoprotein, which could in theory nudge levels of drugs it moves. This has never been shown in real people, and vecuronium is given in a carefully monitored setting by an anesthesia team. If you take uva ursi, just mention it to your surgical team beforehand so they have the full picture.

Uva ursi is a traditional herb used mainly for urinary tract infections, and its leaves contain a compound called arbutin that may have antimicrobial effects in the urine.
