Temazepam falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Uva Ursi interacts with.

Theoretically, uva ursi may decrease the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro, uva ursi appears to inhibit CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist: your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear temazepam (Restoril) out of your system. In a test-tube setting, uva ursi seemed to slow that enzyme down. If that were to happen in real life, temazepam could hang around longer than usual, which might leave you feeling more drowsy, groggy, dizzy, or 'hungover' the next morning.

The important part: this effect has only been seen in lab studies, not in actual people, so it's more of a theoretical concern than a proven problem. Temazepam is also mostly broken down by a different pathway, which makes a big interaction less likely. Still, since both can make you sleepy, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Temazepam capsules — sold as Restoril and under the generic name Temazepam — are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia, generally 7 to 10 days. They help people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

This medication is intended for short periods only. If sleep trouble doesn't improve within 7 to 10 days, that may signal an underlying medical or psychiatric condition that needs its own evaluation.
