Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This is a single-ingredient liquid supplement containing vanadium at 200 parts per million. The product is made up of ionic vanadium (the active mineral) suspended in reverse osmosis water.

Does it work?

Strong evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed

This product doesn't appear to be marketed for a specific use, so we graded Vanadium's overall clinical evidence instead.

Strong

Strong clinical evidence supports Vanadium for:

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.
  • Since the label doesn't commit to one use, we graded the ingredient's overall clinical evidence instead.
  • On file: Vanadium deficiency — rated "Likely Effective" (Natural Medicines).

The evidence on vanadium's usefulness is limited. It's rated likely effective for treating vanadium deficiency itself, which is rare.

For everything else we have data on—athletic performance, cancer, diabetes, and high cholesterol—the evidence isn't strong enough to say whether it works. The small diabetes studies are promising enough to raise interaction concerns, but not conclusive enough to recommend it for blood sugar control.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Vanadium from food is fine, but supplement doses need caution. Doses above 1.8 mg daily may cause stomach upset, including nausea, diarrhea, bloating, and belly discomfort.

At higher doses taken long-term, there's a rare risk of kidney damage. Allergic reactions to vanadium are uncommon but documented—skin rashes, itchy eyes, and contact dermatitis have occurred in people exposed to vanadium metal or compounds.

There isn't enough safety data for pregnancy or breastfeeding. The facts advise against using vanadium supplements during pregnancy and while nursing.

Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is right for you if you're pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

Moderate interaction found

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Vanadium.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs; diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 208 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Double-check this product with your pharmacist if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel, etc.) or any diabetes medication (insulin, metformin, sulfonylureas, etc.). Both are Moderate-severity interactions.

Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

Theoretically, vanadium might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro research shows that the sodium orthovanadate form of vanadium prolongs clotting time, likely through inhibition of thrombin and factor Xa.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Antidiabetes Drugs

Theoretically, vanadium might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
A few very small clinical studies in patients with type 2 diabetes show that the vanadyl sulfate form of vanadium increases insulin sensitivity and might lower blood glucose levels.

Ionic Vanadium 200 PPM by Good State: Common Questions

Does Ionic Vanadium 200 PPM by Good State interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Ionic Vanadium 200 PPM has a known interaction with 208 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Ionic Vanadium 200 PPM contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Is vanadium safe to take every day?
Vanadium is well tolerated at doses below 1.8 mg daily. Beyond that, you may get stomach problems. Long-term high doses carry a rare risk of kidney damage, so this isn't something to take indefinitely without talking to your doctor.
Can I use this while pregnant?
No, there isn't enough safety data. The facts advise against vanadium supplements during pregnancy. Talk with your doctor before taking it if you're pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
Will this help my blood sugar?
The evidence isn't strong enough to say yes. A few very small studies suggest vanadium might help, but we rate the evidence as insufficient. If you have diabetes, work with your doctor on proven treatments and tell them if you're thinking of adding this.
What are the side effects?
Most side effects are stomach-related—nausea, diarrhea, bloating, and belly discomfort—when doses go above 1.8 mg daily. Allergic skin reactions are rare but have been reported. Kidney damage is a serious but uncommon risk at high long-term doses.
