What’s inside

Low disclosure
Ingredient Transparency · database check
Low

Most active ingredients don't disclose an individual amount — you can't tell how much of each you're getting.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 0 of its 2 active ingredients.

This product contains 2 ingredients. Vanadium is the active component; it's a trace mineral your body needs in small amounts, though most people get enough from food.

High energy water is also listed, but we hold no safety or interaction data for it. The product contains no inactive fillers or other ingredients listed.

Vanadium supplements provide amounts well above what you'd get from diet alone, which is why interactions and side effects become a concern at higher doses.

Does it work?

Not established
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not established

The graded evidence we hold for these ingredients covers different conditions than the ones this product is marketed for, so there's no established rating for its stated use — see Vanadium's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: helps regulate the circulatory system.
  • We looked for evidence on: Hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular health, blood flow.
  • The closest evidence on file: Vanadium is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Hyperlipidemia (Natural Medicines).

Vanadium is rated Likely Effective for vanadium deficiency — the condition of not having enough of this mineral. For athletic performance, diabetes, high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia), and cancer, the evidence we hold is insufficient to rate it.

This means the current studies are too small or unclear to say whether it works for those purposes.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Vanadium is generally well tolerated when taken at or below the upper safe daily limit of 1.8 mg. At higher doses, you may experience gastrointestinal side effects — belly discomfort, diarrhea, gas, and nausea.

Long-term use at high doses has been linked to kidney damage, though this is rare. Allergic reactions to vanadium metal, including rashes and contact dermatitis, have been reported in sensitive individuals.

The safety data advises against vanadium supplements during pregnancy and breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know it's safe at supplement doses in either situation. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is right for you if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Moderate interaction found
Known Interaction Concern · database check
Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Vanadium.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs; diabetes medications.
  • For scale: 208 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before you take this product, double-check it with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on blood thinners (anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs) — vanadium may increase bleeding risk. Also confirm it's safe if you take diabetes medications, since vanadium might lower your blood sugar too much.

General Statements

Leading experts have agreed on the fact that many diseases, and often even death, are caused by mineral deficiencies. According to Senate Document #264, 99% of Americans suffer from mineral imbalances. Our physical well-being is directly dependent upon the minerals we consume. Nature's most digestible source of pure minerals Angstrom is a unit used in measuring the length of light waves. Angstrom minerals are in the purest form and are one hundred million times smaller than colloidal minerals making them the most digestible source of minerals available today. The average absorption rate for most of the minerals on the market (colloidal, ionic, etc.) in adults is approximately 10% and even less if digestive problems are present. All of the Angstrom Minerals penetrate to the DNA which means they can cross the blood/brain barrier to supply energy directly to the brain. What's unique about these minerals is the fact they are totally water soluble - which simply means what the body doesn't need it will excrete! Due to the purity and concentration of this product, it has no expiration date.

Minor crystallization may occur, but this does not affect the quality of this product. Expect consistency of result with the Angstrom Minerals

Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

Theoretically, vanadium might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro research shows that the sodium orthovanadate form of vanadium prolongs clotting time, likely through inhibition of thrombin and factor Xa.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Antidiabetes Drugs

Theoretically, vanadium might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
A few very small clinical studies in patients with type 2 diabetes show that the vanadyl sulfate form of vanadium increases insulin sensitivity and might lower blood glucose levels.

Vanadium by Angstrom Minerals: Common Questions

Does Vanadium by Angstrom Minerals interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Vanadium has a known interaction with 208 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Vanadium contains 2 active ingredients, and an interaction can come from any of them. We check every ingredient, combine the results into one list per medication, and show which ingredient and mechanism is responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Is vanadium safe to take every day?
Yes, at or below 1.8 mg daily — the upper safe limit. Higher doses can cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, and gas, and long-term high doses may damage your kidneys. Don't exceed the recommended amount.
Can I take vanadium if I'm on blood thinners like warfarin?
Not without checking first. Vanadium may increase your bleeding risk by slowing how your blood clots. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before adding it to your routine.
What if I have type 2 diabetes — can this help lower my blood sugar?
Small studies suggest vanadium might improve insulin sensitivity, but the evidence isn't strong enough to recommend it for diabetes. Because it may lower blood sugar further, it's risky to take it with diabetes medications without close medical supervision. Check with your doctor first.
Can I take vanadium if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. The safety data advises against vanadium supplements in both pregnancy and breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know it's safe. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your options.
What does vanadium actually do in the body?
Your body needs a small amount of vanadium for normal function, and most people get enough from food. Supplement doses are much higher and are being studied for blood sugar control and athletic performance, though the evidence for those uses isn't established yet.
What's 'high energy water' — is it safe?
We don't hold safety or interaction data for that ingredient, so we can't tell you whether it's safe or how it might affect your medications. Ask your pharmacist about it, or look for a product with just vanadium if you want clarity.
